One definition says: mental or emotional pressure that causes strain on an individual. Another definition says: to subject to pressure or strain. In reality stress initiators are not limited to mental and emotional. Spiritual, environmental, physical are all adjectives that can be attached to the word stress. Normally we do not utter the word stress until our coping mechanism has reached overload. But that does not mean that we are not subject to the ravages of stress before reaching the limits. Understanding energy flow in the human body is a major key to the prevention of excessive and potentially debilitating distress.
